The Setting
Kings Mountain State Park rests in a picturesque
setting adjacent to Kings Mountain National Military
Park, a prominent Revolutionary War battle site.
This traditional state park, which encompasses
6,883-acres, offers outdoor recreation activities
such as hiking trails, picnicking, fishing from
a rental jon boat, seasonal canoe rentals, equestrian
trails and more. Guests can also re-live the life
styles of early pioneers by visiting the Living
History Farm. The park was originally built in
the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps
and evidence of their stonework and craftsmanship
is still present today.

- 115 sites with water & electricity for
tents or RVs
- 10 tent sites with central water and no electricity
- Primitive group camping area for organized
groups of up to 30 people
- Equestrian campground with 15 sites available
with central water
- Packed gravel sites with water & electric
some accommodate RVs up to 40 feet long
- Comfort stations with restrooms and hot showers

- Fishing on 65-acre Lake York

national park
- Living History Farm - The farm is a replica
of a 19th century South Carolina yeoman farm
which includes a barn, cotton gin and blacksmith/carpenter
shop.
- The park is located adjacent to Kings Mountain
National Military Park, a prominent Revolutionary
War Battle Site

Directions
Driving Directions: Located 14 miles N.W.
of York on Hwy 161. From I-85, take exit 8, turn
left onto Hwy 161, go across NC/SC state line
and park entrance will be on the right. From I-77
take exit for Hwy 5 toward Rock Hill. Follow Hwy
5 through Rock Hill to York. In York, turn N onto
Hwy 321, then bear left onto Hwy 161, entrance
will be on the left.
