Yatesville Lake State Park See other Spotlights

Located on the shores of Yatesville Lake, Yatesville Lake State Park is a recreation park has a 47-site campground, full-service marina with 174 boat slips and the 18-hole Eagle Ridge Championship Golf Course.

The Setting

  • Campground situated in a woodland setting accenting the natural beauty of eastern Kentucky.
  • Campground situated above the shores of Yatesville Lake, one of the largest lakes in the eastern part of the state.
  • Privately spaced campsites
  • The Park is surrounded by Wildlife Enhancement Areas. You can view whitetail deer, wild turkey, raccoons and an occasional skunk.  Yatesville Lake is also home of the American Bald Eagle
The Facility

The campground has 47 campsites available, with 3 different types available:

  • 27 campsites with electric and water hookups (for RVs, campers and tents)
  • 4 primitive tent sites
  • 16 boat-in primitive tent sites (may be hiked-in for the avid hiker/camper-sites range from ¼ mile to ¾ mile from the parking area)
  • All campsites have a picnic table, fire-ring and lantern hook.
  • 20, 30 and 50 amp electric service and individual water hydrants available at the RV/Camper sites.
  • Main campground has restrooms located through the campground with a centrally located bath-House. The bathhouse has hot, private showers, sinks, mirrors, electric hand/hair dryers, baby changing stations, heated in during cold weather conditions and a laundry room with washers and dryers.
  • The Boat-In Campsites offer primitive tent camping with 3 restrooms (toilets with sink) centrally located. There are potable water hydrants located just adjacent to the restroom facilities.
  • The Boat-in campsites do not offer individual dock facilities at the campsites, boats are just pulled onto the shore-line.

  • Marina offers pontoon and jon-boat rentals/picnic shelters (the marina is approximately 12 miles from the campground area)
  • Friendly staff willing to meet all your needs

Camping Tips

  • Bring a camera and binoculars
  • Bring your fishing tackle
  • Hiking trails for everyone-bring good hiking shoes/boots and backpacks.
  • Please do not feed our wildlife friends who occasionally visit the campground. Never pick up a snake.  Please contact a campground attendant to remove a troublesome animal.
  • Playground located across from the bath-house.
  • Firewood, ice and a number of camping products can be purchased at the registration booth.
  • Informational brochures and pamphlets are available at the registration booth.
  • Hiking trails above and along the shores of Yatesville Lake.
  • Privately spaced campsites

  • Good roadways leading to all areas of the park
Getting There

From Louisville: Take I-65 south to exit 53(Cave City/Glasgow). Turn Left off of the ramp onto 90 towards Glasgow. Drive about 10-15 minutes into Glasgow. You will come to 31E intersection. Take a right on to 31E south. Stay on this road about 15 miles. You will come to a large caution light. Turn right into the Park.
